Short introduction

I work as a doctoral student and lecturer within collegium 2 at the Swedish School of Library and Information Science (SSLIS) at Göteborg University and Högskolan i Borås. In addition to education and research I have the overall responsibility for the info laboratory (A602) at our department.
     I have earlier worked as a systems developer (programmer) and thereby acquired a thorough competence within database development, web programming and systems design. A concrete example of this is the thesis database of Högskolan i Borås.

Education

I teach on full time courses within collegium 2 and on extra-curricular courses. At present, I am involved in these courses:

• Information Retrieval (C-level, 5 credits)
• Informationshantering (20 credits, extra-curricular, distance ed.)
• Webbredaktör, design och publicering (40 credits, extra-curricular)

In addition to teaching I supervise master's theses, primarily within information retrieval.

Research

For my dissertation I intend to focus on so called self-organizing maps (SOM's) for semantic analysis of Swedish language texts. As a result of this research I hope to be able to detect semantic relationships (e.g. conceptual clustering and synonymy) between terms.
