PhD Project
My PhD project concerns information practices in elementary school. A
starting point for the project is to understand how information literacy is
enacted in the social practices of problem-centred assignments during
the first school years.
The thesis is built on a sociocultural perspective on learning; a school of
thought that originates in the work of the Russian psychologist Lev
Semenovich Vygotsky. I’m also influenced by the ‘new sociology of
childhood’. Methodologically, my thesis is informed by a visual ethnographic
approach, which entails a focus on the visual aspects of the practices
studied and which therefore requires the use of a camcorder.
The project is conducted within
