I was
born in 1962 in southern Spain in Andujar
a city 150 kilometers north of Granada.
In the city of Andujar there is a church called "El santuario de
la Virgen de la Cabeza". From the city to this church
the oldest "Romeria"
in Spain is celebrated every year. According to the legend this
"Romeria" began in the year 1227.
In 1981 I
came to
Borås, Sweden and started to learn Swedish. My first job
after my arrival in Sweden was as dishwasher in a restaurant during a
year. After this and during a period of 5 years I got other jobs as
carpets cleaner, baker, as home care worker for old people.
In
1987 I started to study and became in 1991 a mechanical engineer at the
Sven
Eriksson School of Technology in Borås. Between 1989 and
2001 I worked as Spanish teacher for adult people in two evening
schools in Borås, Studiefrämjandet
and Medborgarskolan.
Between 1985 and 1999 I worked with technical translations for
different companies around the city of Borås. In 1993, during six
months and during the time I was working in the school of
Medborgarskolan as a teacher, I became a project leader in a theatre
project for 23 people. After some years in 1996 I continued my strive
for more education and continued with studies in the School of Engineering at the University of
Borås. In 1999 I became a Bachelor of Science in Computer
Engineering.
After
this degree I became a lecturer in Computer Engineering at the University of Borås. Alongside my
teaching I fulfilled some pedagogic courses for higher education and
later I continued to enlarge this competence by attending to a Master
program in ICT (Information and Communication Technology) and learning
at the IT university in Gothenburg, west Sweden. These studies lead to
a Master of Science in ICT and learning in 2004.
I
have been leader of the project for unemployed academics who have got a
possibility to practice at the University of Borås (http://www.hb.se/akadem/) financed
by the European Social Union during 2006-2007, a member of the project PROSAM
2006-2007. The project aimed to develop a professional approach for
cooperation between three Universities Colleges in west Sweden and the
Society (University West in Sweden, University of Skövde and the
University of Borås). I am the ICT-adviser and the manager of
information coordination in the project NEWBONE financed by the
European Union (EU), at the School of Engineering at the University of
Borås. Since autumn 2007 I am working at the department of Information
Technology at the University of Borås.
What to add: I´m
married with four children, I am interested in computers and IT, I have
a hobby as carpenter and I am proud of my Spanish origin
